When you get in touch, we will ask you some questions about yourself to begin to assess your needs according to the Fair Access to Care Service criteria set out by the Government. Everyone is entitled to a free Community Care Assessment. The assessment determines what care needs you have and your eligibility for social care support.
If you are not eligible for social care support, we aim to help people find other ways of meeting their needs by redirecting them to other organisations, by helping them to maximise their own resources or by giving advice.
You are also entitled to an assessment if you are a carer. The carer’s assessment will cover many things, including employment, lifelong learning and your wish to take part in leisure activities.
