Residents at Rogers House Residential Home in Wigmore, celebrated resident, Margaret Carver’s birthday with a celebratory trip to Broadstairs.
With the sun shining on the south east on Saturday 23rd July, there was no better way for Margaret to spend her special day than to take a trip to the coast and bask in the sunshine with staff and her friends from the home.
Excited for a nostalgic day at the seaside, the residents boarded the bus at the Wigmore residential home, eager to get to Broadstairs and enjoy the weather and sea air and some fish and chips of course.
As well as tucking into the traditional seaside cuisine and singing happy birthday to Margaret, the residents relished a relaxing walk along the seafront and a delicious ice cream to cool themselves down, before heading back to the minibus and making their way home.
Lorraine Laker, home manager of Rogers House said: “Our residents always love a trip to the seaside as the Kent coastline is particularly nostalgic for a number of them, who spent many years holidaying there as children.
“Margaret had a fabulous birthday surrounded by her friends and they all had a great day too. It really is lovely that our residents have formed such good friendships with one another since moving in with us.”
