At Rosehaven, our dedicated staff are headed by a registered manager, who has many years of experience in caring for the elderly. All Staff are DBS checked and trained to an appropriate level, many with NVQ qualifications. Training is sponsored by the company as part of an on-going commitment to training and retaining high quality staff.
There is full disabled access, lifts to all floors and specialised equipment is available, e.g. for assisted bathing. Physiotherapy, Chiropody, Dentists and Opticians are all available on request. Also, local clergy of all denominations are encouraged to visit on a regular basis and can be arranged on request.
Our trained chefs prepare a wide range of home cooked food using fresh local produce. The choice is based on traditional recipes and daily alternatives are provided at every meal time. Special diets are also catered for.
A full programme of activities is available to our residents, tailored to their needs and abilities.
Although there is a non-smoking policy in most areas, special smoking zones are designated and both smokers and non-smokers are accommodated in our care home. The home is visited by hairdressers and a range of complimentary therapies can be arranged on request at your own cost. Accommodation is fully inclusive of laundry.
The home welcomes guests funded by Social Services and those who are privately paying clients.
This home is inspected and accredited by CQC, in accordance with statutory government regulation.
Features include three large lounges, where residents can relax, interact, watch television or find peace and quiet. There are also two separate dining rooms. Bedrooms retain the charming, original character and features of the house.
A sensitively converted ‘Poritt’ house in a magnificent location on leafy Whitegate Drive, near central Blackpool. As the name suggests, Rosehaven has attractive and well established gardens and rose garden. This property has long been considered one of the most prestigious conversions for residential care in Blackpool.

We carried out this inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. This inspection was planned to check whether the provider is meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, to look at the overall quality of the service, and to provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.
This inspection took place on 21 February 2017 and was unannounced. The inspection team consisted of two adult social care inspectors.
Before our inspection we reviewed the information we held on the service. This included notifications we had received from the registered provider about incidents that affected the health, safety and welfare of people who lived at the home and previous inspection reports. We also checked to see if any information concerning the care and welfare of people living at the home had been received.
We spoke with a range of people about the service. They included three people who lived at the home, a relative, the registered manager and three members of staff on duty.
We looked round the home and observed staff interactions with people. We looked at care and the medicine records of three people, the previous four weeks of staff rotas, recruitment and staff training records and records relating to the management of the home.
We also spoke with health care professionals, the commissioning department at the local authority and contacted Healthwatch Blackpool prior to our inspection. Healthwatch Blackpool is an independent consumer champion for health and social care. This helped us to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced whilst living at the home.
