Day clubs and support clubs
There are some day clubs in Gloucestershire, the majority of which are operated by the independent sector. As part of the reshaping of social care and support, the county council has been reviewing the way day services operate, and so some services have been changing to be more focused on providing short term support to provide reablement to help people if they need to maintain or improve their independence.
Other services now offer a menu of services that can be purchased to suit your needs. All day services have to reach certain standards. Adults assessed as eligible by Gloucestershire County
Council and who need support in keeping and enhancing their independence may be offered a place at a centre, which in most cases will be for a short period. There are regular reviews of your needs.
Day clubs and day support can provide particular types of services to meet different needs. Some offer short-term support to help you access services in your local community.
Others provide more specialist ongoing support to help you and your carer. Some provide hot meals for a small charge. If you need assistance with personal care, it will be provided in a safe, dignified and respectful manner.
You will be provided with a choice of activities designed around your needs and goals based on a care plan which will be drawn up by care professionals in conjunction with yourself.
