Creative residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Wantage have crafted spectacular baskets and hand-painted eggs in time for Easter.
This week residents at Wantage Nursing Home in Garston Lane enjoyed springtime-themed arts and crafts sessions ahead of Easter weekend, making beautifully decorated eggs and bonnets in time to show off.
The egg-cellent display will be enjoyed by loved ones and friends throughout celebrations which will include a hot cross bun tea party, as well as a visit from the home’s Easter Bunny who will be handing out chocolate surprises to residents.
72-year-old resident Wendy Simmons said: “I enjoy celebrating Easter, I like to think back to all the Easter egg hunts I’ve enjoyed!”
Fellow resident, Winsome Devery, 80, added: “Easter is a time for chocolate and looking very pretty in bonnets.”
The Sanctuary Care home’s activities assistant Wendy Pill said: “Our residents have really enjoyed making their baskets and painting their eggs in preparation for Easter. The activity brought back some wonderful memories of when our residents were children, it was lovely to hear.”
