British Red Cross
The British Red Cross provides short-term care and support in the home for people after an accident or illness, giving them the confidence to continue their daily lives. The service helps thousands of people every year following a short stay in hospital. It also helps to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions by providing extra support and care at home.

Norfolk First Support
This service provides intensive support in your own home. If, for example, you have been in hospital and need support when you return home, Norfolk First Support is there to help you regain as much independence as possible and avoid costly long-term support. The service is for anyone over 18 and is free during your period of assessment and reablement and this can be for up to six weeks.

The team will work with you to develop a personalised plan designed to help you regain the skills and confidence to remain independent in your home.

Home and Well Service
The Home and Well Service is provided by the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) to assist older people going into hospital for a planned stay. It can:

  • Help with getting your home ready for your hospital stay, turning the heating down and cancelling papers.
  • Make sure you have basic food ready for your return home.
  • Help to organise pet care.
  • Provide transport to hospital.
  • Provide information and helping you to access services for when you return home.
