NHS Continuing Care in Swansea
NHS Continuing Care is the name given to a package of services which is arranged and funded by the NHS for people who have been assessed as having a primary health need. Eligible people can receive Continuing Care services in any setting, including their own home or in a care home. In your own home, the NHS would pay for healthcare (for example, services from a community nurse or specialist therapist) and social care, but not for the costs of food, accommodation or general household support.
In a care home, if you are eligible for Continuing Care funding, the NHS pays for your care home fees, including board and accommodation, as well as your healthcare.
