Meadow House residential nursing home in Swaffham has been honoured as a category winner at a national ceremony, celebrating quality care. The team was named as winner in the ‘Best Nursing Care’ category of the inaugural national ‘Care Home Awards’ at a ceremony in London, coming in top in a field of nominees from across the UK.
The awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the owning and running of care homes in the UK and in the quality of suppliers to the sector.
Meadow House has been repeatedly recognised for its exceptional standards of care, and was the first care home in Norfolk to be rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.*
The home, which is part of the Healthcare Homes Group, provides dedicated care for people with a physical disability, specialising in care for people with multiple sclerosis. All staff work with a commitment to person-centred care and continually strive to find new and innovative ways of delivering the best service possible.
This emphasis on tailored, bespoke care was a key focus in the home’s award nomination, which also highlighted the exceptional feedback the team receives from families of those they care for and from colleagues within the care sector.
In February this year, the home was also named the winner of the ‘best person centred care’ award at the Norfolk Care Awards, where it was also ‘highly commended’ in the team category. They received their award at a ceremony at Sprowston Manor on February 23rd.
Chief Executive Officer of the Healthcare Homes Group, Gordon Cochrane said: “We are extremely proud of the Meadow House team. The award is a fitting reflection of the dedication and professionalism of the staff, all of whom go out of their way to provide outstanding care for the residents that live at the home.
“As a group, we aim to lead the way in care standards: by achieving the outstanding grading, followed by this year’s set of awards, the Meadow House team is demonstrating that it is doing just that. I would like to personally thank them all for their hard work and professionalism, which we know is so greatly valued and appreciated by all the residents and their relatives.”
Regional Manager George Catanescu added, “Being specialists in caring for people with physical disabilities such as Multiple Sclerosis, it is so important for the staff to be responsive to individual needs and strive for innovation in new and effective care techniques. This award celebrates this; it recognises the team’s relentless commitment to delivering tailored care. This is something we stand for not only at Meadow House, but across the entire Healthcare Homes group.”
