Village and Community Agents

Village and Community Agents in Gloucestershire bridge the gap between communities and organisations that can offer relevant help or support.

Village Agents provide support to the over 50s across the county and Community Agents provide support to black and minority ethnicity groups.

Agents can:
• provide high quality information;
• put people in contact with agencies that can provide services they need;
• carry out a series of practical checks; and
• help build communities.

If you would like to find out if there is a Village or Community Agent in your area you can search, by area, on www.villageagents.org.uk, alternatively you can call the Adult Social Care Helpdesk on: 01452 426868. Village Agents are jointly funded by Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group. The scheme is managed by Gloucestershire County Council in partnership with Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC).

The Village Agents online website is full of useful, easily found information for the over 50s. It also has its own database where you can find local information about social activities, shops, pharmacy delivery etc and other services specific to the parishes covered by Village Agents.
