What is Browsealoud?

Care Choices is Browsealoud compatible.

Browsealoud adds speech and reading support tools to websites so that even people who have difficulties reading can access information online.

It can help people who are:

  • Dyslexic
  • Have a mild visual impairment
  • Have low literacy or have problems reading
  • Do not have English as a first language

At Care Choices, we want everyone to be able to benefit from our care information, so all our regional directories can be read with Browsealoud.

You can also have any page on this website read to you by clicking on the Browsealoud logo at the top right of the screen.

To have one of our care directories read aloud to you, download the software by clicking on the link below and following the instructions to install it on your computer.

Once Browsealoud has been installed, open the PDF you want to view and double click on the PDF icon in the bottom right of your screen. If you have any problems with the Browse-aloud compatible version, try downloading the latest version of Adobe Reader.

Adobe Reader software is the free trusted standard for reliably viewing, printing, and annotating PDF documents. It’s the only PDF file viewer that can open and interact with all types of PDF content, including forms and multimedia.
