Residents at Ashworth Grange, are launching a unique ‘Heart to Heart’ initiative by asking local children to create love heart ornaments to help them decorate their home over Valentine’s Day.

The hearts can be drawn, painted, sewn, knitted, or crafted which will be used to create a striking Valentines mural in the home to spread the love.

Additionally, residents at Ashworth Grange are encouraging children to write a Valentine’s message on their hearts, which could include a fun joke, a poem or something straight from the heart.

Moreover, resident, Joan Johnson, said, ‘With everything that is going on with the current pandemic, I think it is fantastic that the team have come up with such a fun and creative idea to spread the love around the community. I can’t wait to see all of the submissions; I know the children’s heart designs will look beautiful all around our home!’.

Furthermore, Lifestyle Manager and driving force for the ‘Heart to Heart’ initiative, Colette Senior, hopes that the decorations will bring joy to the residents who will be taking part in a whole host of Valentine’s activities. Such as baking themed buns, listening to love songs and watching romantic movies – there has been something for everyone to enjoy. She also said, ‘It is more important now than ever to get into the community together to spread the love, and this is such a nice activity to do at home with the kiddies. Our team and residents have been creating their own hearts, and this felt like a really fun way to get the community involved with the day. I look forward to seeing what creative hearts we receive!’.
