Sparks were in the air at Watling Court on Friday 4th November, when tenants and staff were joined by their friends and family, for an evening of fireworks and fun.
The weather wasn’t on their side, but that didn’t stop tenants of the Ifield Way extra care housing scheme from enjoying themselves and getting into the spirit of Bonfire Night.
Accompanied by their friends and family and staff of the scheme, the tenants lit some sparklers before watching the spectacular fireworks display light up the sky, from the comfort of the sofa of course, as it was bitterly cold and raining after all!
Following the display, the tenants tucked into a traditional Bonfire Night tea of hot dogs, jacket potatoes and homemade soup, whilst discussing the delights of the display.
Helen Goulding, Scheme Manager of Watling Court said: “Special events are always celebrated here at Watling Court and despite the weather, Bonfire Night was no different!
“Since opening the scheme in 2011, we have developed our own community and our tenants have all made some wonderful friendships, this is partly down to and further cemented by the great deal of regular activities and events we host within the scheme.”
