Sparks were flying at Watling Court Extra Care Housing Scheme in Gravesend on Saturday night, when tenants got together for a special Bonfire Night Bonanza.

Joined by staff, friends and family, tenants of the Gravesend extra care housing scheme got together on Saturday evening to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night with a party and fireworks display.

The excited tenants wrapped up warm and headed out to the courtyard, excited to watch the fireworks display and use their sparklers, just like they used to in their younger days.

Following the fireworks, tenants warmed up inside with a traditional Bonfire Night tea, including hot dogs, soup and jacket potatoes with chilli. Continuing their celebrations into the evening, the tenants enjoyed a drink whilst nattering with one another about their memories of fireworks night.

Helen Goulding, housing manager of Watling Court commented: “Everyone had a great time at our Bonfire Night celebration, the tenants here love a get together so they had a great time catching up whilst watching the display. Now, everyone is gearing up for the upcoming Christmas celebrations!”
