Residents at Connors House made the most of their recently renovated courtyard by enjoying an alfresco tea party, to commemorate Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday.
With the sun shining, for a couple of hours at least, residents of the Craddock Road residential home, got together for a celebratory tea party on Saturday 11th June.
As the residents gathered with their friends and family, staff had festooned the sunny courtyard with patriotic flags and bunting, whilst the tables were draped with Union Jack tablecloths and teeming with afternoon tea treats fit for a Queen.
As they nattered away with one another about the history of our Monarch, they tucked into their cups of tea and the tasty buffet of sandwiches, savouries, scones and cakes.
Whilst soaking up the rare sunshine, the residents and their guests enjoyed the entertainment provided, as a singer performed patriotic and nostalgic songs for them. Resident, Brian Foskett even joined the singer on stage to sing along to an old favourite with her.
Bev Furr, activity coordinator at Connors House commented: “We’ve had so much rain lately so we really were very lucky with the warm and sunny weather on Saturday.
“The residents and their families had an excellent afternoon and there is still a buzz about the home, everyone is talking about what a great time they had!”
