OverallRead overall summary
We carried out this inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. This inspection was planned to check whether the provider is meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, to look at the overall quality of the service, and to provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.
This inspection took place on 06 September 2017. This was the first time the service had been inspected since it was registered on 05 August 2016. The provider was given 48 hoursâ notice because the location provides a domiciliary care service and we needed to be sure that someone would be in. The inspection team consisted of one inspector and one expert by experience. An expert by experience is someone who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses a similar service.
Before the inspection, we looked at all of the information that we held about the service including any notifications received by us. A notification is information about important events, which the provider is required to send to us by law.
During the inspection we spoke with the registered manager and the director. We also spoke with three relatives of people who used the service on the telephone, and sought their views on their experience of the service, and the care delivered to their relative. We reviewed four peopleâs care files, four staff recruitment and support files, training records and quality assurance information.
