OverallRead overall summary
We carried out this inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. This inspection was planned to check whether the provider is meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, to look at the overall quality of the service, and to provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.'
This inspection took place on 5 January 2017 and was unannounced. The inspection team consisted of three adult social care inspectors and an inspection manager.
We spoke with four people who used the service, the deputy manager, six care workers and the service manager. The registered manager was not available on the day of our inspection but we spoke with them on the telephone following the inspection visit.
We looked at four peopleâs care records and other records which related to the management of the service such as training records, audits and policies and procedures.
Before the inspection we reviewed the information we held about the home. This included looking at information we had received about the service and statutory notifications we had received from the home. We also contacted the local authority commissioners and the safeguarding team.
As part of the inspection process we reviewed the Provider Information Return (PIR), which the provider completed prior to the inspection. This asks them to give key information about the service, what the service does well and what improvements they plan to make.
