OverallRead overall summary
We carried out this inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. This inspection was planned to check whether the provider is meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, to look at the overall quality of the service, and to provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.
This inspection took place on 27 June 2017 and was unannounced.
The inspection was carried out by one inspector.
Before the inspection, we reviewed the information we held about the service, including data about
safeguarding and statutory notifications. Statutory notifications are information about important events which the provider is required to send us by law. We also contacted the Local Authority for any information they held on the service.
We spoke with one person that used the service, and observed another person who was non-verbal and their interactions with staff. Other people using the service were not available to speak with during our inspection. We spoke with three support workers, the deputy manager, the operations director, and the manager who was temporarily supporting the service in the absence of the registered manager. The service had a registered manager who was not available on the day of our inspection. We reviewed four peopleâs care records to ensure they were reflective of their needs, four staff files, and other documents relating to the management of the service.
