Two care homes in Cambridgeshire are hosting a series of informal coffee mornings each week for the local community to come along and enjoy.

Home Close care home in Fulbourn will hold coffee mornings every Wednesday morning from 10:30am with its next on 19th September, while The Hillings residential home in Eaton Socon will hold its community coffee morning on Mondays at 10am, with its first taking place on 17th September.

These events are intended to provide neighbours with an opportunity to socialise with residents at the care homes, and enjoy friendly conversations and light refreshments together. The gatherings are an ideal way for those looking for some company to meet with neighbours for a regular social meet-up; ideal for those living on their own or feeling isolated or lonely, or simply wishing to visit the home to get to know the residents.

Confirms Deb Wiltshire, manager of The Hillings: “Our coffee morning meet-ups are a great way of connecting our home with the local community. It’s important that our residents feel part of the local area plus it offers a great opportunity for socializing for those also living in our town, particularly for those who may be living on their own. Our staff and residents would love to welcome you into their home for company and conversation; everyone will be made to feel at home.”
