At Bluebird Care Lewisham & Southwark, we believe passionately in preserving independence and improving the quality of life of vulnerable people by offering sustainable solutions to some of the problems often associated with frailty, lone-living and isolation.

We provide a range of Care services which help older people, those with physical or learning disabilities, dementia, mental health and neurological conditions, as well as other vulnerable adults, to live independent lives in the comfort and safety of their own homes, surrounded by the things that matter to them and the memories they cherish, and where important social networks can be preserved.

Bluebird Care Lewisham & Southwark’s alternative offering to residential care is a premium service for those who do not want to compromise when it comes to the quality of the Care that they, or their relatives, receive. Indeed, we aim to provide the same standard of Care that we would expect for our own loved ones.

You can find more information about our services via our website, but the support we typically provide involves help with the morning/evening routine, including personal care, administration/management of medication, help at meal times, including cooking and shopping for groceries, light domestic support and accompaniment on trips outside the home.

That said, every care package we put together is as unique as the person/people with whom we write them. You will be surprised what “Home Care” can include with a little creative thinking!

We conduct Enhanced DBS (criminal background) checks on all our staff. All our carers are employed, insured and trained directly by us. Many drive their own vehicles and have Business Class 1 insurance.

Please get in touch to discuss a bespoke package of Care in more detail.

Covid-19 Information

Bluebird Care  is keeping fully abreast of developments relating to the continued spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the UK. We are routinely monitoring developments, reviewing our protocols, and preparing appropriate responses as the situation evolves. We are committed to ensuring all steps are taken to protect the health and wellbeing of all our colleagues and customers.

Bluebird Care also continues to work closely with NHS England/UK Public Health Authorities, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) in order to protect colleagues and customers and maintain service delivery. Our Business Continuity Plans are reviewed regularly in preparation for a possible escalation of the outbreak.

At Bluebird Care Lewisham & Southwark, we are following the Government’s guidance, which can be found online at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-providing-home-care/coronavirus-covid-19-provision-of-home-care#clinically-extremely-vulnerable-people-and-care-groups

Infection Prevention and Control is taught to everyone from day one, refreshed annually, and is practiced daily at each care visit. Our staff know to wash their hands regularly, to keep their distance and to arrive at every visit with full PPE: facemasks, eye protection, gloves, aprons and hand sanitiser.

Before we can carry out a new assessment, we will need to verify that neither the primary customer(s), nor anyone who is to be present at the assessment, has tested positive for COVID-19 or has had any symptoms in the last 14 days. If anyone has, we will have to wait until they can evidence a negative test before we can visit you.

Unfortunately we can’t take on any new customer who is positive for COVID-19. We can assess their needs only once a negative test can be evidenced.
