Conveniently located a short distance from the town centre, Edward Moore House is a bright and welcoming two-storey home.
It specialises in dementia and elderly frail care for up to 36 older people.
The home’s busy activity co-ordinator is always planning exciting events and outings for our residents. Recent trips out include a tour of the local Sikh temple and an evening out at the theatre.
We also receive plenty of visitors, whether that is the school next door popping in to sing carols or the local brownie pack coming in to bake cakes or do gardening jobs with the residents.
Each bedroom is carpeted and furnished and many of the rooms are en-suite or close to a disabled friendly bathroom. Residents are encouraged to bring their identity to the home and decorate their room to their own taste, with their own furnishings.
Resident’s guests are welcome to join them in their room and visiting hours are not restricted, we find that our open door policy helps us to create a community within the home.
Staff at the home manage all cleaning and laundry, however, residents sometimes like to help out and carry on a part of their routine.
Edward Moore House is also home to two cats, which make particularly good companions for the residents of the home.
