
Hengist Field Care Centre is a purpose-built home caring for those who need Nursing or specialist Dementia care, short term rehabilitation or respite stays.
The Home is situated on the outer edges of Borden, amongst wonderful views of the open Kentish countryside.
Hengist Field has 75 en suite bedrooms and a range of excellent amenities including five lounges, three dining rooms, a relatives’ room, cinema room, physiotherapy treatment room and onsite hair salon. They also have a large secure garden with relaxing water features.
Residents at the Home enjoy a varied programme of activities including quizzes, arts and crafts, movies, exercise sessions, gardening, book clubs and singalongs. They welcome local church bell ringers, pet therapy animals, singers and theatre groups.
One of the first care providers to champion the importance of nutrition for the elderly and those with dementia, Nellsar employ a Nutrition and Wellness Manager for their Homes. Hengist Field acknowledges that nutrition and hydration are an integral part of good health and well-being and delivers well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to residents every day. All residents are offered a choice of food, to ensure all types of preferences and diets are catered for.
The Home is committed to providing the best quality care and is staffed by dedicated and highly skilled Nurses and Carers. Employing high-tech care planning technology, the team at Hengist Field use the ®Nourish system, spending less time on paperwork and more time caring for their residents.
They also use bespoke dementia care technology ‘interactiveMe’ as a way of further personalising their residents’ care, and as a tool for connecting individuals with their family and care staff around them. This personalised-online profile offers a wonderful tool for reminiscence too.
