Lulworth House is a residential Home, providing care for people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

The 1920s style home is situated in a pretty leafy avenue on the outskirts of Maidstone.

Lulworth House provide spacious and light accommodation which retains much of the building’s original character and charm. It has 38 single rooms, some of which have en suite facilities, and amenities include a spacious dining room, two lounges, a conservatory and onsite hair salon. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to create a ‘home from home’ feel.

The Home runs a varied calendar of events including games, quizzes, singalongs, cream tea dances, summer parties and barbeques. They also hold regular film nights, as well as entertainment evenings with professional performers.

One of the first care providers to champion the importance of nutrition for the elderly and those with dementia, Nellsar employ a Nutrition and Wellness Manager for their Homes. Lulworth House acknowledges that nutrition and hydration are an integral part of good health and well-being and delivers well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to residents every day. All residents are offered a choice of food, to ensure all types of preferences and diets are catered for.

Staff use bespoke dementia care technology ‘interactiveMe’ as a way of further personalising their residents’ care, and as a tool for connecting individuals with their family and care staff around them. This personalised-online profile offers a wonderful tool for reminiscence too.

Lulworth House also benefits from a well-being team of fully-qualified holistic therapists who use nurturing touch, complementary therapies and relaxing treatments to improve residents’ quality of life and sense of well-being.
