Minster Grange Care Home is located behind Nuffield Hospital in the Clifton District of York. It welcomes and supports people with many specialist needs.

The team are particularly experienced in dementia care and care of those with physical frailties. As well as respite and palliative care.

Minster Grange staff are caring and empathetic and provide person-centred care that respects each person’s dignity and personality. There are six small units which provide nursing care, nursing care for younger adults, dementia care and residential care.

Residents can expect a personalised approach to their care including reminiscence work looking at life history, with staff getting to know everyone’s needs and offer choices in order to have an impact that is positive and satisfying over the long term. The staff have a created a warm and friendly home where people can choose how to spend their time and are involved in their own care.

Minster Grange has communal areas on each floor and each unit is self-contained; designed to support the people that live at the home. Facilities also include a cinema room, hair salon and indoor garden room; with hand-painted murals designed and decorated by a member of the team. The grounds have many seated areas along with flower beds and a vegetable patch where you can watch the birds and squirrels or simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity.

There is a full program of activities and entertainment, including baking, gardening, singing and one to one support where needed. Religious beliefs are respected. Outside entertainers also visit the home.

Home-cooked food support each resident’s choice of diet and each unit has a kitchen area to provide drinks and snacks whenever a person would like them.

Covid-19 Update

We have ad the first vaccine! We are open and available throughout the lockdown to accept new residents in our care homes. We have a rolling program for testing residents and staff, ensuring our homes are a safe environment for everyone. Controlled visits for all residents are available, meaning you are able to see your loved one in a safe environment.
