Moorhouse Nursing Home, rated overall Good by CQC, is a charming country house set in the heart of the village of Hindhead.

Our warm and friendly home is the residence for up to 36 men and women, who are supported by a skilled team of compassionate and caring nurses and carers committed to delivering the highest quality of care. Each resident is treated as an individual and we develop personalised care plans that meet their physical needs as well as their emotional needs.

At Moorhouse, varying sizes of bedrooms are located across two floors, all of which are light and individually decorated with many enjoying undisturbed views over the National Trust’s Golden Valley. Most of our ground floor rooms also benefit from patio doors that open directly into our mature landscaped garden surrounding the home.

All our food is cooked daily on-site by our award-nominated chef who uses fresh ingredients to create residents’ favourite meals and delicious afternoon cakes. Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinator organises a varied programme of activities from arts and crafts, chair exercises to flower arranging. Residents are also welcome to potter and plant in the garden.

We are pleased to be welcoming new residents into our care home on both permanent and short stay basis and have clear procedures in place for new and existing residents to ensure the safety of everyone within the home.

Auditing and monitoring infection control throughout the home is our top priority, supported by mandatory training for all staff. Our staff are required to always wear personal protective equipment, have temperature checked before entering the home and undertake twice weekly lateral flow tests.

For all visitors we strongly recommend a lateral flow test is conducted on the day of the visit and visitors continue to wear a face mask to protect the welfare of our residents. If you are feeling unwell on the day, please rearrange your visit.

For those unable to visit, we continue to support residents to contact their loved ones by Skype and phone.
