At Old Station House we offer compassionate, individualised residential and dementia care for up to 43 residents in modern and comfortable en-suite apartments. We believe our professional expert care team are the best people to provide the personal care you need. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do and their wellbeing is paramount. We pride ourselves on delivering care to the highest standards. We try to learn as much as possible about each person who lives with us, so that we can provide them with care and support tailored to their individual needs and preferences. Our dedicated and professionally trained staff team is on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week to give you the support you need, when you need it to continue an independent and fulfilling lifestyle.
We are among the first care providers to employ our own specialist Admiral Nurses of Dementia UK, and have been leaders in exploring other innovative ways of caring for people living with dementia, such as themed destination areas and meaningful activities. We also believe that our residents should enjoy life in an atmosphere of warmth and understanding. Residents are cared for by people who appreciate their need for privacy and who will respect their dignity and freedom of choice.
Life at the Old Station House
At the Old Station House you can relax on the roof-top sun-terrace, in one of the themed areas or join in with the wide range of activities taking place on a daily basis, we hope that there is everything you need to help to continue a fulfilling and independent lifestyle. You can relax or socialise with friends and family in one of the four lounges. Enjoy some fresh air by taking a stroll in our landscaped garden, complete with a conservatory balcony. We also have a hairdressing salon that is open to visits every week, and a convenience shop.
Our dedicated Activity Co-ordinators offer a wide-ranging programme of events and activities, organised to take account of everyone’s hobbies, interests and requests. From gardening to arts and crafts, outings or more individual pursuits, we want everyone to enjoy life to the fullest. We will be delighted to help you continue with your current pastimes and give you the opportunity to try something new if you’d like to do so.

Lastly, home-cooked meals are prepared by our talented cook and kitchen team. These are served in our spacious, open plan dining room. As well as taking advantage of seasonal produce whenever possible. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes and snacks are also carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take account of any individual dietary requirements and preferences. And of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. Each floor has their own personal dining room where residents take their meals if they wish. Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food. And to make snacks in their own kitchenettes whenever they feel a bit peckish.
