Sonya Lodge Residential Care Centre provides specialist 24-hour care for elderly people who have been diagnosed with Dementia.

Located in the quiet Kentish village of Wilmington, residents can enjoy secure, private accommodation with modern amenities.

The Home has 37 single bedrooms, most of which have en suite facilities. Other amenities include a spacious dining room, five lounges to choose from, a cinema room, onsite hair salon, an old-fashioned sweet shop selling treats and toiletries. They also have a large peaceful garden with flowerbeds and outdoor seating, complete with its own Forget Me Not tearoom.

Socialising is an essential part of daily life at Sonya Lodge and there is always plenty going on, including visits from entertainers, group singsongs, summer barbecues and trips out in their minibus.

One of the first care providers to champion the importance of nutrition for the elderly and those with dementia, Nellsar employ a Nutrition and Wellness Manager for their Homes. Sonya Lodge acknowledges that nutrition and hydration are an integral part of good health and well-being and delivers well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to residents every day. All residents are offered a choice of food, to ensure all types of preferences and diets are catered for.

The Home prides itself on having an excellent care team, specifically trained to care for individuals with Dementia. All of their staff are Dementia Champions and exceptionally respectful, patient and compassionate.
Employing high-tech care planning technology, the team at Sonya Lodge use the ®Nourish system, spending less time on paperwork and more time caring for their residents.

The Lodge also benefits from a well-being team of fully-qualified holistic therapists who use nurturing touch, complementary therapies and relaxing treatments to improve residents’ quality of life and sense of well-being.
