Wingham Court delivers 24-hour rehabilitation care and support for people (aged 18 – 65 years) living with complex needs and neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injury.
Recently refurbished, has comfortable en-suite bedrooms and lounge areas where residents can relax and socialise. The home benefits from 3 acres of beautifully well-maintained gardens.
The therapy department has a fully equipped newly refurbished gym, providing slow stream rehabilitation for residents. The physical management programme is person-centred and focuses on preventing secondary complications and maximising function.
Regular visits from professionals such as GP’s, speech and language therapists, wheelchair services, psychologist, neurophysiologists and dietitians; enabling resident needs to be continually met.
There is a bustling atmosphere in the home, with things going on which residents can freely join in with like quizzes, singing workshops, films, sports, Zumba, tai chi, and visiting entertainers etc. There are also special interest groups such as discussions, documentaries, ladies night, darts, boccia, reading, and gardening.
They also arrange lots of bespoke and 1-2-1 activities to cater to resident’s special interests or where extra support is required to ensure their participation. Several outings each week, so residents don’t feel out of touch with their local community.
There is a dedicated art lounge and professional art teacher, a well-furnished IT suite, beautiful grounds including a 6-a-side sports pitch, a bowling green, and 2 LTA registered tennis courts.
