Various Caremark offices in their national network took part in the nationwide Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 30th September 2016 and supported the fundraising event with colourful stands offering all sorts of wonderful cakes and bakes.
Four offices which got busy baking for this important fund-raiser were Caremark (East Riding), (Wokingham & Bracknell), (Croydon) and (Harrow).
Clients, their relatives and friends as well as care staff were invited to pop in and enjoy some home- made cakes and refreshments in aid of Macmillan cancer support fund.
The event certainly brought out the baking stars within the different care teams with some very professional looking cakes being produced.
Krystal Robinson, Community Liaison Officer from Caremark (East Riding) said: “What a lovely day we had on Friday 30th September for the Macmillan Coffee Morning! Thanks to your support we raised a very generous £123.79 for the Macmillan Cancer Trust!
“We are yet again overwhelmed with the turnout and all the support given from friends, family, staff and clients. Also a big thank you goes to Susie Parkinson for yet again baking the Macmillan cake; it went down extremely well and not a single piece was left!”
Bipin Patel, Managing Director of Caremark (Wokingham & Bracknell) & (Croydon) added: “We had a really successful day with lots of visitors and raised in excess of £300 which was fantastic! Our beautiful cake was made by our Co-ordinator, Gemma Thompson, and Daksha, my wife. Many of our Care Workers also baked lovely cakes, so many thanks go to them too.”
Clients were collected from home and brought to the event so that they could meet other people and enjoy a relaxing social outing.
Caremark (Harrow) also had plenty of visitors through their door and raised just under £200.
Clive Morgan, a client for the last two years said: “This is the first time I have visited the office and I really like it,” while Alex Wright a live-in client enthusiastically said: “I enjoy going out with Mo (Modiba Konate, his live-in care worker) and doing different things.”
Asked if he was pleased to come to the Coffee Morning he gave a broad smile and said: “Yes! I love cake!”
