CLS care homes across the North West took part in this year’s Care Home Open Day by throwing open their doors and holding a variety of events for members of the local community.

18 care homes put out the bunting and invited the public to join in with this year’s theme of ‘celebration’. A range of activities were on offer, including cream teas, garden parties and a summer fayre. Visitors to the homes were encouraged to join in the fun alongside residents and offered the chance to learn more about what life in a care home is really like.

Care Home Open Day is an event that sees care homes from across the country throw open their doors for members of the public to come and find out about life in a care home. Taking place each year, the event is an excellent opportunity for care providers to show the public how rewarding and enjoyable life in a care home can be.

Sheila Wood-Townend commented on the day’s events: “Care Home Open Day is an excellent opportunity for our staff and residents to show the public all the best things about living in a quality care home. We had a great turn-out this year, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this day a success.”
