Eccleshare Court Nursing & Care Home in the Hartsholme area of Lincoln enjoyed a fantastic day on Care Home Open Day 2018.

Residents and staff were delighted to welcome a team from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue as well as families and members of the local community throughout the day.

Residents were excited to see the fire engine and hear all about the work of the Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue team who visited the home in the morning. In the afternoon everyone enjoyed entertainment in the garden from local musicians ‘Over the Hill’ and residents and families had a great time dancing in the sunshine!

The idea behind the day is to encourage local people to visit care homes in their community and to work together to develop better relationships.

This important connection is something that Eccleshare Court Care Home has long since nurtured, the home is already acting as a community hub, with regular visits from local nursery children and many other community groups.

Susannah Barker-Milan, Home Manager at the home, said:

“This is a great way to show the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at Eccleshare Court. Some people still have misconceptions about care homes so we are keen to dispel any myths and for people to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents.”
