Gold Care Home in Peterborough gets a gold! Now rated as Outstanding by the Quality Care Commission

Resident Activity - nail painting at The Tudors rated Outstanding by CQC

The Tudors, part of the Gold Care Homes group, has recently been awarded the most coveted rating of Outstanding following an unannounced inspection in April.

The Tudors is a 44 bed care home offering a range of care services for the elderly, including those living with dementia.

Under the strict assessment, care homes are judged on five key categories: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The Tudors scored an impressive 3 categories as Outstanding and 2 as Good – which ultimately led to an outstanding rating overall.

Ravi Gidar, Managing Director at Gold Care Homes said:

“This is our second outstanding home in the Gold Care portfolio, which is a fantastic achievement, but, the hard work isn’t over yet. We must build on this success and ensure we continue to maintain an excellent level of care while driving Gold Care Homes to unprecedented heights of care excellence.”

Ronnie Lane, Care Home Manager at The Tudors said:

“With less than 1% of care homes in England achieving an outstanding rating, I’m extremely proud of the staff who have worked relentlessly to achieve this result.

“Our regular engagement with the residents, their families and the local community has been fundamental in changing and shaping the service we deliver. This has been a key driver for our success.”

Jemima Burnage, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region said:

“Our inspection team was really impressed by the level of care and support offered to people at The Tudors Care Home.

“Staff were highly motivated to treat the people they assisted with kindness and respect. People were supported to be involved in making decisions about their care and support needs.

“One relative said, “If this service had star ratings like a hotel it would be five
stars, it is much better than we ever could have expected.”

Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, said:

“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.

“An outstanding service is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved.”
