A UK home care company has revealed exceptional levels of client happiness, according to independent research.
Home Instead Senior Care announced the results of the research of more than 5,000 clients on World Smile Day, October 6th.
The results showed that 92 per cent of Home Instead caregivers have gone above and beyond for their older clients to make them smile – from reigniting 86-year-old Margaret’s passion for dancing to helping 74-year-old Ian to play golf when he thought he may never play again.
Other happy clients in the survey included 81-year-old Mrs Askew who – thanks to her caregiver – got to attend her grandson’s wedding and 91-year-old Joan who rediscovered her knitting technique thanks to her caregiver.
More than 5,000 caregivers and 5,000 clients across the UK were questioned as part of the annual survey by Smith & Henderson.
Home Instead Senior Care specialises in relationship-led care for older people, and results overall showed that 96 per cent of clients recommended them.
The independent survey results also revealed that 95 per cent of clients felt their caregiver was well matched to them and 93 per cent felt that their caregiver was properly introduced before they started working with them.
With 190 offices across the UK, Home Instead Senior Care has delivered more than five million hours of care in 2016, with three million individual visits in this time.
The model works by matching caregivers with clients through shared hobbies and interests, ensuring the highest levels of quality at home care for older people. Visit times are a minimum of an hour, allowing time for caregivers to build relationships with their clients.
Martin Jones, managing director of Home Instead Senior Care said: “At Home Instead Senior Care, our aim is to change the face of ageing. We want to improve the quality of life for older people by allowing them to stay at home for longer and ultimately live happier, more comfortable and enjoyable lives.
“It is fantastic to announce such terrific results, especially to coincide with World Smile Day, showing how it’s the little things our caregivers do which make our clients smile.
“It is through the hard work of our staff, particularly our wonderful caregivers, that we have been able to continue to deliver the highest standards of quality home care.”
