Norfolk Trusted Trader Scheme
This is a county-wide service, free to Norfolk residents, provided by Norfolk County Council. It is aimed at helping older and vulnerable people remain safe and independent in their own homes. It is a directory of reliable providers – businesses and voluntary agencies – who meet the scheme’s standards. They provide a wide range of services such as domestic help, help with shopping, bathing and gardening, hot and cold meal delivery, home repairs and maintenance, painting and decorating, and IT support.
All traders on the scheme are checked by Trading Standards, and must have public liability insurance. They are also required to abide by the codes of the scheme which include having a clear pricing policy, providing written receipts and making sure employees and contractors are trained appropriately. Traders must also give their customers feedback forms which are then published on the Norfolk Trusted Trader website.
