Supported Living is the term given by Local Authorities to offer people their ‘own homes’ via a tenancy or home ownership or shared ownership and have personal and housing related support provided by an outside organisation.
Hatfield Chase provides accommodation with flexible and individual support for people with a learning disability to help them to live independently in their own home. It consists of 10 bungalows in Bedlington, each with its own bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and garden. All bungalows are also wheelchair accessible and have special equipment and sensors, called telecare, which provides tenants with an emergency on call system.
Staff are on hand seven days a week 24 hours a day to provide as much or as little support as required.
