Kasia has come to see me many times and is lovely compassionate and very caring. She has put carers in place for me and nothing is too much trouble for her. She spends time listening to you and your needs a very nice attribute to her. Would highly recommend Abbott’s Care

I have recently engaged the services of Abbots Care to help with my Dad's care. His carers have been warm, friendly and professional and I understand, have carried out their duties with courtesy and respect. I think my Dad is pleased to see the new faces and have a chat. For my family, it has given us peace of mind, knowing that someone kind and trustworthy is popping in to see our Dad throughout the day.... although we still see him regularly ourselves. The app has been brilliant as it informs us who has visited, what they have done and how my Dad is. It has been very reassuring. I would highly recommend this company if you are considering having care for a loved one. It's still early days for us....but, so far, so good.

Overall not a very good experience with Abbots Care St Albans. The positives being that my 95 year old father was always treated kindly and respectfully and there were a few carers who were very good. The negatives: lots and lots of different carers with varying degrees of skills and experience, many instances of tasks not being completed properly or not at all e.g. not cleaning the toilet and commode, forgetting to change the bed, leaving obstacles in the way of the toilet, leaving shower area wet, forgetting to put my fathers alarm back on after showering/dressing, not putting soiled incontinence pads in the bin, not following clear instructions e.g. switching off my fathers night light when told not to, leaving food or drinks out of reach so my father could not get to them, taking out the wrong meals to defrost and lack of basic culinary skills. In addition the administration support and organising of medication leave a lot to be desired. My sister and I had to make umpteen phone calls and send lots of emails to complain about issues and did not always receive responses. The experience was exhausting and frustrating for us. We felt we did more of the actual work ourselves than the carers. All this and rated outstanding by the CQC - something not quite right here? At the end of the day all this points to the ineffectiveness of senior management as the buck stops with them. Camille Leavoid the MD needs to take action to sort out the many weaknesses. The CQC also need to be notified so that the next inspection can focus on all the issues raised by the families of their loved ones as they deserve better. Once again just to reiterate there were a few lovely good carers and no one was abusive to my father.

I’m completing this review on behalf of my relative who has one call a day x 7days a week. Pros of the care provided: Useful access to app to show who’s been there and tasks completed. Care agency easy to contact and good response to questions/queries. Good ‘Other’ events/social visits provided by the company. Kind carers that encourage p/c washing and completing all tasks. Cons of the care provided Different carers sent most days so no continuity of care Some carers doing minimum tasks /lack intuition Some carers accents are very difficult for a deaf person to hear and understand.

Abbots care have been looking after my 93yr old Mother’s need for the past 4 weeks. I can honestly say that the care, attention, friendliness and attitude to their work has been second to none. We couldn’t have survived without them. Mum was very reluctant to have someone care for her that wasn’t me, but she has accepted them with open arms and I’m so grateful to everyone at Abbots care, not only the care workers but also the administration team. Very professional.
