I can't thank the home enough, for the support they have given my relative. They enjoy the lovely food, the wide variety of activities and comment on how clean their room is kept by housekeeping. I have found all of the staff from reception, care and every other department to be professional and caring, a big thank you.

We considered carefully when choosing a care home for my mother, and on balance Avalon Court appeared to offer everything that she would need in a very pleasant, modern and bright environment with very well appointed private and communal rooms and seemingly a good level of care, so my mother moved in during May 2025. Within a matter of days it became very apparent that you should never judge a book by its cover. There were so many failings on so many levels that it is impossible to list everything here but we made several complaints and took photographs where appropriate. Subsequently my mother suffered severe trauma and illness and was hospitalised due to the failings of Avalon Court. We found an alternative home and my mother moved there directly from hospital in early June 2025 and has thrived in their care ever since. A lengthy period of correspondence with Avery Healthcare followed, where they consistently refused to accept responsibility and even tried to lay some blame at the door of the family. After many months the complaint was escalated to the Ombudsman. In March 2026 the Social Care Ombudsman investigation was completed and they officially found that Avery Healthcare caused significant injustice by not administering prescribed drugs, poor levels of cleanliness and hygiene, and inadequate general standards of care to a visually impaired person. This has resulted in us receiving an official apology and refund of monies. In my personal opinion their attitude towards my mother's care was sloppy and cavalier, as was their handling of the complaint. The decision statement by the LGSCO will be made public in the coming weeks for all to see.

Lovely care home and lots of staff in various positions are supporting and attentive. Different events take place throughout the year, including fundraising which the residents can experience.

My lovely mum has been a resident for a few months now. I have found Avalon Court to be a lovely, welcoming and caring place. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The care given to mum has been excellent.

Although residents are cared for to a high standard. The staff have to tolerate a culture of bullying.
