Our family cannot speak highly enough of Elton House Care Home and the incredible care our mum received there during her final months. When our mum had to go into palliative care due to cancer, the staff at Elton House were absolutely amazing — not just to her, but to our whole family. Mum was only there for two months, but in that short time she was cared for with genuine compassion, dignity, and understanding. Elton House feels far more like a five-star hotel than a care home, with facilities that are second to none: a café, two restaurants, a cinema complex, and a hairdressers. We were also welcomed into the community life of the home and attended several social events, including a wonderful Christmas fair with live jazz music and a Christmas Eve party. These moments brought light and warmth during an incredibly difficult time for us all. The nursing staff are exceptional. They did everything possible to make Mum’s last weeks as comfortable, pain-free, and peaceful as they could be, while also taking the time every day to check in on us as a family. That level of care and kindness meant more to us than we can ever express. The receptionists were always there with a smile, a kind word, or simply a listening ear when we needed it most. The entertainment team ran a fantastic activities programme, including a weekly quiz pack for residents to enjoy in their rooms — something our mum really loved. This was an extremely hard period for our family, but the compassion, professionalism, and warmth shown by everyone at Elton House made an unbearable situation just a little easier to cope with. We would wholeheartedly recommend Elton House to anyone looking for care for themselves or a loved one. A special thank you to Tunde, Deputy Nursing Manager; Simona, the most wonderful and kind nurse; all of the HCA’s; and Tracy on reception. We will always be grateful to every single one of you.xxxxx

This care home looked lovely from the outside and inside. However, it’s quite telling that most of the reviews are from years ago. My mum was admitted here for respite recently, and for an extortionate amount of money per week. On the plus side, most of the staff are lovely although clearly over stretched. But it’s obvious that the home is lacking in a competent management team due to the amount of problems I encountered over the 3 weeks that my mum stayed here for. Meals missed, call bells not answered, problems with arranging nurses (which I took upon myself to deal with), lack of communication and multiple calls to reception because the call bells weren’t being answered (amongst other things). I put my mum into respite to also give myself some respite because she was so unwell….however, this did not transpire. After speaking with other residents, it was clear that there was a problem with management and not the staff. I complained to the care manager after the first week and was assured that the issues we encountered would be resolved, but they weren’t. And on leaving, I complained again but the email I received after my mum left was dismissive and cited that I had no clear evidence of any wrongdoing. Even if I had evidence, my evidence would have been different to theirs. We paid over £5000 for a 3 week stay here, but I have no idea what we paid for. Bed, board (sort of) and a halfhearted attempt to make my mum comfortable. Most of the time she was fending for herself…. I was told by other residents that Elton House used to be a great place to be but not anymore. Avery……you need to address this and look at your management team. I would be more than happy to discuss this in person.

I used to visit a resident at Elton house and each time I visited him he was scruffy look like he was not assisted with personal care. Room was also untidy. Sometime you will find the reception just chatting with other members of staff and not doing what she is meant to do. I wouldn't recommend this carehome.

I recently completed my training with Hart Learning and Development Team at Elton House Care Home, and I couldn't be more impressed. The learning environment was truly exceptional! The facilities were fantastic, creating the perfect setting for growth and education. Every single member of staff was supportive, professional, and always ready to go the extra mile. Their dedication and passion for our development shone through in every interaction. A huge shout-out to the Elton House Care Home Team for creating such a positive and enriching atmosphere. You made every moment worthwhile and truly valued. Highly, highly recommended!

Highest standard I have ever seen with my own eyes in care home, some 5 star hotel cannot match the standard in everything... Just think of it.
