Care That Comes From Understanding What Families Really Need. When Jane Carolan’s father needed homecare in 2024, she experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find a provider who truly cares. Despite her 25 years of experience as a Director of Operations in Health and Social Care, she struggled to find local services that were interested, compassionate, and willing to offer practical advice during one of her family’s most challenging times.

When she finally found the right carer, everything changed. Her father was able to stay at home with dignity. Her mother got the respite she desperately needed. The family got precious time together. That experience inspired Jane to create something better. In November 2024, GoodOaks Homecare Mid Cheshire was born—a care service built on the simple belief that every family deserves the kind of compassionate, reliable support Jane’s family finally found.

What Makes Us Different

Free Virtual GP Access for All Clients

Through our partnership with Doctor Care Anywhere, every client receives complimentary access to:

  • 24/7 appointments with GPs, Advanced Care Practitioners, Physiotherapists, and Mental Health Practitioners
  • Video or phone consultations within 2 hours
  • Quick prescriptions and referrals
  • Four free appointments annually

For families worried about lengthy GP waiting times, this service provides invaluable peace of mind and rapid access to healthcare when needed.

Advanced Health Monitoring

We use Whizan health monitoring technology to check vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen levels. When clients feel unwell, we can provide GPs with accurate, data-backed information—often preventing hospital admissions and ensuring rapid treatment at home.

Chaplaincy Support

Our team includes a qualified chaplain who provides spiritual and emotional support, recognising that caring for the whole person means addressing faith needs alongside physical care.

True 24/7 Availability

Professional care shouldn’t stop at 5pm. When clients need us—whether it’s a midnight welfare check or an emergency bathroom flood—we’re there. We go beyond contracted hours because it’s simply the right thing to do.

Consistent, Trusted Carers

We assign the same carers regularly, building genuine relationships rather than sending different faces every day. Your parent will know who’s coming and feel comfortable and safe with familiar carers who understand their preferences, routines, and personality.

Quality You Can Trust

  • CQC Registered – Fully compliant with Care Quality Commission standards
  • Highly Trained Team – All carers receive comprehensive training including dementia awareness, moving and handling, and person-centred care
  • Values-Based Recruitment – We hire for empathy, integrity, and genuine compassion, not just qualifications
  • Digital Care Records – Families can access real-time updates about their loved one’s care
  • 90% Staff Retention – Our carers stay because they’re valued, supported, and love what they do

Real Feedback From Families We Support

“Everything is going well with the carers for my Mum, it’s so amazing that I don’t have to worry about things anymore. I can relax knowing that she’s very well looked after. Thank you so much.”

“From their first visit, they made us feel at ease and answered every question. They went above and beyond in everything they did. Mum enjoyed the ladies coming, from singing to walking round her garden, to being taken to the doctors. Nothing was too much trouble. Made life easier for the family and of course mum.”

“Really caring staff, always chatty and friendly with client. Always engage with her and promote conversation and interaction. Local staff so able to talk about the area and events. All staff a real asset and a credit to the company. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.”

“Knowledgeable and caring. Reliable and empathetic. I think the manager is building a high level support company in Mid Cheshire.”

Jane Carolan

Jane Carolan - Owner & Director, GoodOaks Homecare Mid Cheshire

A Lifetime of Care, A Personal Mission

Jane Carolan brings over 35 years of Health and Social Care experience to GoodOaks Mid Cheshire, combined with a deeply personal understanding of what families need when caring for loved ones at home.

Her journey in social care began with a passion for ensuring that everyone—regardless of disability or age—can live with dignity, independence, and genuine quality of life. Throughout her extensive career, Jane has worked across diverse sectors, always championing person-centred care that sees the individual, not just their condition.

Building Excellence Across the Care Sector

Jane's career has been defined by innovation and unwavering commitment to quality. She helped establish Priors Court School in Berkshire, a specialist school for children with autism, demonstrating her ability to build services from the ground up with excellence embedded from day one.

She spent significant time at Scope, supporting students with physical disabilities, and at Leonard Cheshire, working with adults who had physical disabilities and brain injuries. Her experience extends to supporting people with sensory disabilities including deafness and blindness, giving her comprehensive understanding of diverse care needs.

For 15 years, Jane served as Director of Operations at Autism Together, where she led operational strategy, quality improvement, and service development across multiple locations. This role honed her expertise in managing complex care services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building teams that deliver consistently excellent support.

Jane has also served as a trustee of a Warrington charity for three years, supporting older adults living in the community—experience that deepened her understanding of the challenges facing elderly people and their families in our local area.

Academic Foundation

Jane holds a degree in Health and Social Care and a Master's degree in Education, combining practical expertise with academic rigour. This educational foundation underpins her evidence-based approach to care delivery and continuous quality improvement.

A Personal Journey That Changed Everything

In 2024, Jane's professional experience intersected with profound personal challenge when her father was diagnosed with cancer, arthritis, dementia, and COPD, and began experiencing strokes. Despite her three decades in social care, Jane found herself making desperate phone calls to local homecare providers, seeking support so her father could stay at home as he wished.

The response was shocking: disinterest, lack of practical advice, and an absence of compassion when her family needed it most. Eventually, Jane found a private carer whose quality care transformed her father's final months, enabling him to remain at home with dignity, while giving her mother essential respite.

When her father passed away peacefully at home in October 2024, Jane made a decision: she would create the kind of homecare service she had desperately sought but struggled to find—compassionate, reliable, innovative, and genuinely person-centred.

One month later, GoodOaks Homecare Mid Cheshire opened its doors.

Rooted in Mid Cheshire

Jane has called Cheshire home for 18 years and has deep connections to the local community. With her daughter living nearby, she understands the challenges adult children face when coordinating care for parents—the worry, the guilt, the juggling of responsibilities, and the desperate need for a provider you can truly trust.

This personal investment in the community drives Jane's commitment to building a service that Mid Cheshire families can depend on completely.

A Vision for Excellence

Jane's vision for GoodOaks Mid Cheshire is simple but ambitious: to prove that homecare can be exceptional when built on genuine values rather than just profit. Drawing on 35 years of experience across autism, physical disabilities, brain injuries, sensory impairments, and elderly care, she brings unparalleled expertise to every aspect of service delivery.

Her approach combines:

  • Professional rigour from decades of operational leadership
  • Innovative thinking from building services from scratch
  • Regulatory expertise from managing CQC-registered services
  • Personal understanding from her own family's care journey
  • Local commitment from 18 years as a Cheshire resident

Why Jane's Leadership Matters

When you choose GoodOaks Mid Cheshire, you're not working with a distant corporate entity or an inexperienced start-up founder. You're partnering with someone who has spent 35 years learning what excellent care looks like, who has personally experienced the fear and frustration of seeking quality homecare, and who is absolutely committed to ensuring no other family struggles as hers did.

Jane knows that behind every care plan is a person with a lifetime of experiences, a family navigating difficult decisions, and a community that deserves better options. That knowledge drives everything GoodOaks Mid Cheshire does.

For Jane, this isn't just a business—it's a mission to honour her father's memory by ensuring that everyone in Mid Cheshire can access the dignified, compassionate homecare they deserve.
