Family owned and Managed Residential Care with Nursing for Rutland. Oakham Grange is an amazing, life affirming place. Purpose built and designed by the family that owns it, it’s been created to be a home, not a hotel. You will find it’s a bright and airy place to live, with lots of sunlight giving a sense of natural warmth, as it shines through the many double aspect picture windows. French doors encourage you to enjoy the well laid out gardens, for a gentle stroll around the raised beds or just feel the season’s breeze on your face.

Oakham Grange is made up of three households that are known as; Sandpiper, Osprey and Avocet. The creation of these areas makes getting to know Oakham Grange easier and helps to build a family like camaraderie between residents and staff, as well making your private bedroom, never too far away to pop back to. Oakham Grange is an Ardale home. We are a family run business which has owned and managed care homes for more than 25 years. We have created Oakham Grange to be the home suitable for our own family members to live in.

We are not an anonymous ‘grey’ corporate care company and you will soon get to know us all. Our experienced leadership team are responsible for a small number of bespoke homes, so we can give each one our full support to deliver the highest quality care. We are very proud that each of our homes are unique and aim to be the care home of choice, in the communities we serve.

Oakham Grange is a fantastic care home that’s full of lovely caring staff and very happy residents. The garden is fantastic too with its adventure golf. I definitely recommend this pleasant home. Angela is a great AC (Activities Coordinator) who really goes the extra mile in making sure all the residents are entertained.

The respite care provided to the couple that I support in their home was fantastic, all the staff were kind and welcoming to us all and they felt that the care home was able to accommodate all their wants and needs. This included creating a double bedroom, as they could not bare to be apart, and ensuring that they received a Christmas present although they arrived with very little notice. The food was lovely, and the kitchen team worked very hard to make sure that they were happy.

I visited Oakham Grange today and met with some of the senior management team. As a nurse I found the ethos, passion and vision of the team innovative, exciting and enabling. It is clear that residents can expect to receive the highest possible standard of care. The building itself is stylish and welcoming, combining a high end, luxury feel with lots of homely and individual touches. Not an easy thing to achieve. The attention to detail is superb and means the whole experience is thoughtful, inclusive and positive for residents and their families.

We recently met with the Oakham Grange team and they were all very friendly and helpful. We had a tour around the building and I can honestly say it is one of the best care homes I have ever seen. All of the rooms have been beautifully designed and there has been a lot of thought put into the whole experience. I would certainly recommend Oakham Grange to anyone needing residential or nursing care.

It has taken me a few months to decide to write a review but after much pressure from my family, and having heard about the latest inspection (which was appalling), I felt compelled to urge anyone considering placing a loved one in Oakham Grange, DON'T. The place is appallingly run, all with agency staff (as they admitted that cant hold on to staff), with terrible care and awful food. As a family, we are not the complaining types, but my mother was so distressed and her health deteriorated so massively, we had to find another home (which has been a huge success and is in a different league to that of OG). None of our comments were ever rectified, nothing was done about a resident walking in to my mother's room at night and dropping his trousers, on most visits her hair was dirty and she was in dirty clothes, I once found someone in her bed, and the final straw as social services alerting me to her well-being, and on my last visit, i decided to change her in to a clean top, only to see her arms completely bruised from her wrists to her shoulders. Keep well clear of this place, I suspect it will be closed down in a matter of months.
