My name is Richard Thickpenny, and I am the Registered Manager at Pristine Domiciliary Care Ltd.
For me, providing care is about more than completing tasks. It’s about people feeling safe, listened to, and respected in their own homes. I am passionate about delivering compassionate home care that allows individuals to live independently and with dignity, in the place they feel most comfortable.
I strongly believe that good care starts with listening. Taking the time to understand someone’s routines, values, and what truly matters to them helps us provide care that feels personal, not rushed or impersonal.
As Registered Manager, I focus on building trust through quality and consistency. I work closely with our care team to make sure they feel supported, well-trained, and confident in their roles. All of our staff are carefully recruited, fully trained, and DBS checked, and we take great care in matching carers to individuals so that strong, familiar relationships can develop.
Above all, I believe the very best care is care that is led by kindness.

We’ve been impressed with the care and support my brother has received from our care worker at Pristine Domiciliary Care. They are a personable team who genuinely care about the people they support. They’ve provided wonderful companionship for him, as well as helping with appointments and shopping. My brother is autistic and can find change very difficult, but the team have been fantastic in taking a phased, thoughtful approach to introducing his care worker. Their patience, kindness, and understanding have made such a positive difference. They’ve made a huge difference to my brother’s wellbeing and to our whole family’s peace of mind. We’re so grateful for everything they do.

I have been using Pristine Domiciliary Care for 2 months now and I am really pleased with the service I get. From the initial assessment that can be a bit daunting, I have felt supported and helped all the way and it has made the process easy. Pristine Domiciliary Care is small enough to be personal but big enough to have all the accreditations available in the field. Our carer is lovely and so helpful and it has made our lives a lot better. I highly recommend Pristine Domiciliary Care.
