Stockmoor Lodge opened in March 2017 and is Somerset Care’s newest care home. It is a modern, purpose-built nursing home with specialist dementia care provision, located in the town of Bridgwater. Stockmoor Lodge offers a varied programme of activities to take part in, a team of highly-trained, qualified nurses and experienced health care assistants, as well as bright, spacious rooms.
All the bedrooms are well furnished, and residents are able to personalise their room if they wish to do so. All the rooms are also single with en-suite facilities, which include a walk-in shower. Bedrooms come complete with a television and telephone points as standard, as well as a nurse call system and access to a lift or stair lift. Ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the gardens. The home is modern and comfortable, providing accommodation over three floors with lovely, far-reaching views of the countryside. Inside, renowned interior designer Diana Celella, combines practical features with colourful, eye-catching detail.
Diana works closely with the dementia services development centre at the University of Stirling and is Chairman of the SBID Healthcare Design Advisory Council; she specialises in designing beautiful rooms that incorporate an understanding of people living with dementia. Stockmoor Lodge also boasts a hairdressing salon and coffee lounge.
