Wilson’s care is a family run company, founded after we experienced poor care for own loved ones. There are 3 members of the family currently working in the company, all with extensive care experience through training, running Social Care Departments in the local County Council or from hands on experience.

 

Our aims and guiding principles are all designed to enable our clients to continue living in the comfort of their own home and enjoy a good quality of life. Our 5 key  guiding principles are- Integrity/Kindness/Reliability /Consistency /Flexibility, in summary the customer  is at the heart of everything we do. Before joining us we would complete a comprehensive, person centric care assessment, that  would cover all aspects of your care including your likes and dislikes, as well finding out if there are activities that you would like to continue inside or outside of your home.

 

A bespoke care plan would then be designed with you, and whether you need only a couple of hours a week or 24/7 care we can provide it. We can deliver all of your  needs from personal care, meal preparation, companionship, domestic chores to medication. We can also support you enjoy activities that you want to continue doing -such as outings, shopping trips, visits to friends or clubs.

Our staff  We believe that happy, well treated staff give the best care, as they get real job satisfaction. Our staff are proud of the work they do and the difference they make to people’s lives, they see their role as vocational not just a job. Our team is treated with respect and encouraged to feedback to us so that we can further improve and refine our services. Our training programme for all staff is comprehensive and very much focused on building trust and bonding with our clients as well as thorough training on what goods care looks like. All staff are trained to meet the Essential Standards of Quality, which is set by the CQC(Care Quality Commission) . Not only do we provide basic training, all of our carers are encouraged and supported to work towards a NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care. Our training programmes are ongoing and whatever experience our staff have we try and expand it introducing new skills and ways of working working.

Manager

Registered Manager and joint managing director - I started my career working in retail and then the construction industry and was latterly managing large complex teams in various managerial roles across the South East of England. I wanted not to just have a job but a vocation, and our family's experiences of setting up care for our grandparents left me disappointed and quite surprised at the lack of compassion and reliability of the care companies we used and I decided to move into  the care sector in 2014. I pride myself in the fact that I have done every job in care at one time or another and this has given me the advantage of having insight and  knowledge of what my carers should be delivering. I am not only joint managing director but also the  Registered Manager and my experience of care helps me in both these roles. I get enormous job satisfaction and am extremely proud of my team and have had marvellous feedback not just from our clients but also from staff -" the best care company I have ever worked for", "I love my job". The positivity the team feel for the company and their roles as carers is highlighted in the high levels of satisfaction that our clients feedback to us, and makes it so worthwhile to do this job.

Lesley Rankin - Joint Managing Director

I have over 30 years experience working in blue chip companies managing multiple departments and large teams of over 100 staff.  I specialised in customer service and therefore have experience of working closely with my clients and delivering high standards. I changed careers, as I made a decision that I wanted to work in an industry that gave something back to the community and I joined Essex County Council as Head of Service for Adult Social Care Connect. This was a very interesting role and I was able to learn about Adult Social Care first hand and its strengths and weaknesses in both the public and private sector. The knowledge I gleaned has been instrumental in designing and putting into operation the standards of care, the policies and procedures in addition to the training programme at Wilson's Care. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved and the care that we deliver, supporting our clients to live independent lives in their own homes. It is also a joy to work with 2 other members of my family, as we all have the same passion and desire to deliver great care in our clients' homes.
