Woodside Care Village is a care home with family-sized households for adults, including people with mobility needs, dementia and hearing loss.
Woodside Care Village has 12 households. Each is designed and decorated in one of three lifestyles based on town, country and classical living. We dedicate two households at the village to our deaf service, Deafinitely Independent. And we train the staff who support our deaf residents in British Sign Language, as well as care and active support.
The village has its own café, hair salon, cinema, shop, launderette and spa bathroom for a complete bathing experience. Outside, the plaza has seating areas, a bike track for our side-by-side bike, outdoor gym equipment and water features. And there’s a quiet area, sensory planting and raised beds. One of the Deafinitely Independent residents works alongside our gardener to maintain the flowerbeds and planting. As part of our activity provision, WCS Care employs Community Musicians who deliver one-to-one or group music-based activities. And our dedicated Memory Maker minibus provides regular, local trips for residents, including those who need to use a wheelchair. Relatives are welcome to join these trips so families can make new memories together. The home also uses circadian rhythm lighting and night-time acoustic monitoring. Both of these innovations help to improve the health and wellbeing of the people living with us. If you’re thinking about making Woodside Care Village your new home, please get in touch to arrange a tour – like any new home, you’ll only know if it’s right for you when you walk through the front door.
