This brochure has been well received by Carers/family members I’ve met on wards as they are often facing a change in their loved ones’ circumstances quite often the cared for may need greater support/care than the Carer/relative can provide going forward. A recent example = Brochure to son of an elderly, newly palliative inpatient father who was also the Carer of his wife living with Dementia. Son identified he needed to find a Care home for his mother due his fathers’ deteriorating health. Son did not live near and worked full time. The father agreed that his caring role was a struggle due to his wife’s increasing care needs and also struggling emotionally due to her increasingly challenging behaviour. He accepted she needed to be settled somewhere near to him so he could visit her.
