My Family, Our Needs is a website supporting parents of disabled children.
The site offers information, guidance and advice on Education Health and Care plans, benefits, housing, the transition to adult services and more. We’ve professionals on hand to answer your specific questions in our Ask The Experts pieces and a handy resource directory where you can find details of local groups near you, accessible activities, holidays and more.
The site not only acts as a resource for supporting your disabled child – it is there to support you too. So you will also find real life stories and guest posts offering a look at relationships, juggling work and caring and maintaining your well-being.
My Family Our Needs are also the force behind the BAPS Awards.
The BAPS (Bloody Awesome Parents) Awards are the only dedicated SEND blog awards. These awards showcase the valuable contribution SEND bloggers make in raising awareness of additional needs, both within the SEND community and the wider society.
Another event in our portfolio is the Transition Event.
This one day conference and exhibition is designed for young people and their supporters and explores the move from child to adult services.
Moving into adulthood can be a time of great hope and excitement, but it is also frequently met with uncertainty. The Transition Event aims to help answer your questions, offer you access to experts and give you information to take away so you can best support young people with additional needs.
