Medequip Assistive Technology is the leading provider of Community Equipment Services to Local Authorities and the NHS across the UK, delivering a wide range of equipment to people in their own homes, keeping people independent for longer.

The service includes the supply, delivery, installation, repair, maintenance, collection and recycling of community equipment, once prescribed by a Health and Social Care Professional. Equipment is provided on loan to support independent living.

Accessing Community Equipment

To access equipment you will need to have an assessment. You can ask your GP for a referral or contact your Council’s Social Care Team for more information on how to get social care support or to request an assessment.

Returning Equipment

If you have already benefited from Medequip labelled equipment, prescribed and loaned to you that you no longer need, Medequip can arrange a free collection, to recycle and help others in need. You can find your local Medequip Service Centre Depot by navigating by your Council name and requesting a collection either by telephone or email.

Why return equipment that is no longer required?

Local NHS and Social Care Services lose thousands of pounds each year due to missing equipment. All items returned will be assessed, safety tested and either repaired and reused or stripped down for recycling.
