My mother had respite care last year at Astbury Manor, and the time came this September to find a permanent home for her. We were so thrilled to find Astbury had a vacancy, and that the same staff were there. Mum moved in within days of us speaking to the home and everyone welcomed her back by name which was so lovely that they remembered her. Mum is on the dementia floor but has settled in so well. She is now enjoying eating again, she used to never be hungry, but the meals are so appetising and well thought out nutritionally, and great care is made to make each mealtime an event - everyone comes together in the dining hall to chat and there are flowers on the tables. There are 2 activities in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon and again everyone is encouraged to join in and reminded what is happening. It is so lovely to see my mum smile again and be happy where she is living, and the anxiety has gone from her face. The home is a community, and it is evident that the staff have fun and enjoy working together. Mum has always had a cat/dog and it is encouraged for family and friends to bring in their dogs during visits which is fabulous. Mum has always enjoyed dressing well and having her hair done etc. and Fiona in the salon does an amazing job each week and they sing Andy Williams songs together. She has her nails done too, which she has always enjoyed. We are so happy she is safe and well looked after 24hrs a day, thank you to all of the Astbury Manor team.

Excellent care home. Astbury looks after my mother with such kindness. Every day I visit my mum and she always says to me… I’m very happy here, what’s not to like. Personally I never thought in a million years that my mum would join in activities. She has always been fine in her own company. Since being in Astbury every day she joins in whatever they are putting on. Big thanks to all the staff.

My father moved into Astbury Manor Care Home in September 2021. I have been extremely happy with care he has received and the rooms and facilities on site. In particular, dad been receiving a personalised care plan well adapted to his needs and staff clearly know dad as an individual and keep us well informed. We are always made to feel very welcome when we visit. I am pleased with the difficult decision we had to make to move dad into care and Astbury Manor has met all our expectations.

My mother has been at Astbury in Bracknell since November. I have found the overall care given and home to be very good. It's welcoming, clean and set out well for residents who have reduced physical and cognitive abilities. Even my pet dog is welcome to visit my mother at any time. There are lots of activities organised and facilities as required for the residents. I feel my mum is safe here and staff strive to give the residents dignity.

Mum had 3 weeks respite care in October, and following this she is now a resident. Mum is very happy and cheerful, she is enjoying lovely meals, good company, and first class quality care from a very kind and compassionate team. She has everything she needs, from a daily newspaper to a smashing hairdresser. Well done.
