Rivermere Care Home has seen a transformation since being taken over by Avery a few years ago, bringing it up to the high-level standards and overarching care philosophy we believe in. This mentality and consistently good service have won us multiple awards and the respect of many within the care sector.

Rivermere is pleasantly situated close to the town of Sevenoaks, directly next to Chipstead Lakes, on the edge of the Kent Weald, and easily accessible from both the M25 and M26. The home itself is surrounded by mature trees and a garden that offers a serene feel and within the home, the staff are dedicated to the holistic well-being of the residents.

Our home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side, we realise that moving into a new home can be an emotional step and at Rivermere we treat all our residents with the dignity and respect they deserve. Opportunities are available, allowing residents to keep up with their interests, their connections with the local Sevenoaks community as well as their passions in life.

EMA Patient Transports Senior Operations Manager Lisa Ward and Operations Manager Matt Ballard visited this wonderful care home this week. They were here to look around this beautiful care home and meet the brilliant staff here. We discussed how EMA can help their residents with private ambulance transport, by using our Care Home Transport services. Many thanks to Danielle Scott for making us so welcome and for our Avery goody bags!

My husband and I spent two weeks here for respite care after I came out of hospital after treatment for a broken wrist and hip. Our experience was one of gratitude for such kind and helpful staff. My husband enjoyed a total rest, I enjoyed being cared for in comfort with my every need catered for. A daily shower was never too much trouble for the staff in spite of the fact it took extra time because of my injuries. The staff were always smiling and cheerful in spite if being very busy. The food was excellent, well presented and help with cutting up food was available, quite important when you are one handed! The daily programme of activities was varied and interesting, the musical exercises were much appreciated. We spoke with many long term residents, naturally there were a few grumbles here and there, but most agreed that if full term care is necessary then Rivermere is the place to be! I could not agree more, if the need arose again then Rivermere would be our first choice. Keep up the good work all you lovely Rivermere staff, you’re doing a good job 🙂

This used to be a 'Sunrise' Care Home. For some reason, after having it built they sold it off. However this is Sunrises loss and Rivermere's gain !! I have been shown around and the apartments are quite nice. With a large walk in shower in a wet room. The apartments have a fridge, microwave oven and a sink. Not that they get used much as all meals plus tea & coffee are included. Even guests get free tea or coffee, biscuits and cake !! It is also possible to have a meal with the residents, but now this is chargeable!! Car Parking is a bit limited and that, as far as I could see, is the only drawback. The costs for board and lodgings have increased several times and now seems rather expensive for what you get.

Sue and the team at Rivermere go above and beyond, every day, to support their residents in living fulfilling lives. The care delivery is personalised, there is a busy activities schedule for those who like to try different things and the food is excellent. Great work, Team Rivermere!
