The Old Downs has 41 bedrooms, a choice of pleasant lounges, a light and airy dining room, spacious conservatory and onsite hair and nail salon. The Home’s beautiful gardens and terraced areas are perfect for relaxing in, spotting local wildlife, or enjoying BBQs in the summer.
The Home provides a range of regular activities for residents, from art and crafts and baking, to watching movies and sports. They also make the most of their minibus for getting out and about to local spots including Millbrook Garden Centre, Hall Place and Gravesend Promenade.
One of the first care providers to champion the importance of nutrition for the elderly and those with dementia, Nellsar employ a Nutrition and Wellness Manager for their Homes. The Old Downs acknowledges that nutrition and hydration are an integral part of good health and well-being, delivering well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to residents every day. All residents are offered a choice of food, to ensure all types of preferences and diets are catered for.
The Home is staffed by a dedicated and highly skilled team of Carers and also benefits from a well-being team of fully-qualified holistic therapists who use nurturing touch, complementary therapies and relaxing treatments to improve residents’ quality of life and sense of well-being.
