Michael Brown - Registered Home Manager

Manager

“I started my career in general building and plastering after leaving school. In my early 20s, I transitioned to managing chain pub/restaurants. Motivated by my parents’ battle with cancer, I decided to change my career path to make a meaningful difference. After my father passed away, I took a blind leap into social care in 2009, starting as a support worker for adults with complex learning difficulties. Since then, I have been keen to progress and experience all areas of social care. I have managed five care homes before joining Abbeyfield Maidenhead, specialising in learning disabilities, dementia, and residential nursing. I have also worked for the local authority (Surrey), where I was made redundant after home closures. Subsequently, I have worked for large private providers of residential and luxury care. At home, I dedicate my time to my family, including my two young children. My commitment to family is as strong as my dedication to my work. I really enjoy my job, and I am confident my skills and past experience will enhance Winton House.”
